The Storm was behind all night, but with 54
seconds left, we came back to tie it up. Mike Black had a
chance to win it all with 6 secinds left, but according
to the Officials(?) it was wide right. In O.T., we
went 4 and out and the rattlers took it in.

and now residing in Verano Brianza, just 20 miles
north of Milan, Giancarlo lives with his wife,

ago, Rancati heard about the AFL in Pro Football
Weekly. He was struck by the high-scoring, fan-friendly
atmosphere. Today, as a computer programmer, he continues to
follow the league on the Internet. "Luckily with the
Internet, it is much easier to find information on Arean
Football but a few years ago it was very difficult," says
Rancati, who taught himself English.

Giancarlo

It was another average Storm/Pred game, back and
forth, glimmers of great plays and horrible plays. The
onside kick by Orlando (and recovered by them) seemed to
be the initial turning point, and our onside kick
late in the game (failed to be recovered by the Storm)
was the final nail.

Congrats (cough-choke) to
the Preds and a hearty "See ya in Tampa on July
1"!

More on the game later.
Bowden (6-0, 185, North Carolina A&T), who leads
the AFL in all-purpose yard average (247.6), had 15
receptions for 183 yards. The four-year veteran had five
total touchdowns (four receiving and one rushing) and
300 all-purpose yards. His reception mark was a
career-high, while his all-purpose performance gave him the
most 300-yard games (five) for a career in AFL
history. Bowden's effort helped keep the Storm (7-0)
undefeated with a 58-51, overtime victory against the
Carolina Cobras.

Previous winners:
Week, Most

Storm Welcome Back Wyatt

In order
to solidify an already solid line that leads the AFL
in sacks (nine) and has allowed the fewest (one),
the Tampa Bay Storm signed the most-decorated player
in franchise history, Willie Wyatt, who is expected
to play for this Friday¹s game against the Carolina
Cobras.

Wyatt has been named to most All-Arena teams (four)
than any player in team history and is considered one
of the best center/nose tackles the game has ever
seen. He is a candidate for the All-IRONMAN and All-15
year team that can be voted on
arenafootball.com.

Wyatt started his Arena career with the Detroit Drive
in 1993 under Storm Head Coach Tim Marcum where he
recorded three sacks. In 1994, he was part of the largest
trade in Arena history (a 12-man deal) that dealt him
to Tampa Bay. He elected not to play in 1994, but
joined the team in ¹95 when Marcum became head coach. He
made an impact from his first game with the Storm
getting sacks in his first two games, finished the year
second on the club in sacks, blocked a career and team
record three blocked kicks and earned Second-Team
All-Arena as he helped the Storm to an ArenaBowl
title.

In 1997 and Œ98, Wyatt was All-Arena First Team. One
of the strangest plays in Arena history occurred on
July 12, 1997 against the Anaheim Piranhas, when Wyatt
rushed through the line on a field goal attempt and
grabbed the ball off the kicking tee and rumbled down to
the five-yard line to the amazement of kicker Ian
Howfield.

The 1999 season was Wyatt¹s last when sustained an
injury and played just eight games, but was recognized
by the AFL with All-Arena Second Team honors. He
rejoins the club after a year away from the game. In
2000, Wyatt was named to the Storm's All-Decade
team.

Wyatt started eight games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
in 1990 and has experience with the Philadelphia
Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and the WLAF¹s Orlando
Thunder after a great college career at the University of
Alabama.
