First of all, let me clarify: I am not a Sifu. :-) I never handle any class. In fact, I consider myself still a beginner in Tai Chi.

 

The Sunday sessions in UP are informal. Open to the public. You are most welcome to attend. The main trainor there-- who I would consider a sifu-- is Rudolph Petalver. He's the one who taught me the 24 Short Form.

 

I don't know anything about Karate. I'm not interested in this. But if you are doing research on Karate in the Philippines, I suggest you read back issues and subscribe to RAPID Magazine. It's the only Philippine-based magazine on martial arts that I know of. Each issue is a wealth of information.

We will probably be staying in the Angeles City area , as that is

Right now I am practicing Wu Tai Ji Quan here in Florida, and hope
to continue my Tai Ji learning while in the Phil. I plan on comming
down to UP on Sundays when Im there as the time you have your class
there is Perfect for me,,if Im accepted to your class.

But in the mean time I would like to find a Tai Ji Quan Sifu/Lao Shi
in Angeles City or near where I can train on a Daily basis..My plans
would be to train close by,, (it dosnt matter what style of Tai Ji as
long as the teacher is knowledgable and good) and Ill come down to the
UP twice or 3 times a month to train there. Or maby to China town if
I could find someone there who would accept me as a student.

Other than Tai Ji I also practice Shotokan and Go-Ju ryu karate.
and have studied several other systems. Next Month I will go to
Okinawa to train for a couple of months in G0-JU Ryu.

I have been trying to do research on Karate in the Phil.. For a Book
I would like to write on just that subject. From the time Mikami San
started teaching there and where it went from there.

Im speaking of precisely tradtional karate systemsand those that
taught back in the 50's and 60's .Such as ,,Master Umipeg, Master
Beaverford,Master Reston, Master Centeno, Master Gonzales ,and so many
others that left their trace of Japanese Karate in the Phil.and those
that are still teaching and training in tradtional japanese
systems.anyway,,that is just a little of what I am up to..thank you
for your time
