Hello!
For the information of everyone, there are now 31 members in this e-group. I just hope that we would all meet in the future, doing tai chi together... especially on April 28, 2007, Saturday. On this day, many countries in the world will be celebrating the World Tai Chi and Qigong Day, an annual event held the last Saturday of April each year, at 10:00 in the morning, to promote the related disciplines of Tai Chi and qigong. It is open to the general public. Celebrations include mass Tai Chi Chuan and qigong exhibitions in many cities, and free classes in most participating cities. The global event began in 1999. The first event that inspired the global event was held in Kansas City, Missouri in 1998 on the lawn of the
Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in midtown Kansas City, where the Kansas City Tai Chi Club held a mass Tai Chi exhibition and teach-in involving nearly two-hundred people. CNN Headline News covered the event, which generated interest beyond Kansas City to quickly grow into a national and international event in the following years.
Rudolph, our main trainor at UP Diliman, has announced that the World Tai Chi and Qigong Day will be celebrated at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.
World Tai Chi and Qigong Day events have been recognized by the United Nations World Health Organization (UNWHO).
For those who are new in the e-group and who lives in Manila, we have free tai chi sessions every Sunday at 7:00am at UP Diliman, at the back of the UP Administration building. It's the parking lot on your side if you are facing east.
Good day!
