Thanks to Zach, whose persistence helped make this tournament happen.  Also thanks to the Soccer Express store in Schaumburg, and local boys Tony Kees and Erik Haefke for their efforts.

Finally, Andrew Simmons should be thanking me for that goal I gifted him in the third place match!  Oh well, life goes on!

The 2002 Chicago Classic was held on Saturday October 12th in Chicago,
Illinois and the results are in. This was the first American tournament
of the year and it was a great one.  It was Minnesotan Zach Walker
winning the tournament with a 6-0 victory over Erik Haefke from
Illinois. The tournament was held in the middle of a soccer store and a
total of 6 players attended with three states represented. Thanks to
everyone who attended!
