According to Lawson's World Record Breakers in Track and Field Athletics, Al
Oerter "attempted a comeback at the age of 43 for the 1980 Moscow Olympics;
he was fourth in the U.S. trials". Recently, Nick Bdera, 55, made the 2004
U.S. trials standard for the 50K race walk (4:45).

I am provisionally qualified for the 1500meters w/ a
3:42.4h. Right now I am 36, I will be 37 in May, '04.
Wasn't Al Oereter (sp?) Discus? up their when he
competed in the Olympics?
