As the international athletics season is pretty much done for 2000-1, us
bored folks at the Bayside webpage have relaunched an old idea of ours: The
Unofficial Aussie Athlete of the Year Poll .
Who do you think were the most successful Australian athletes
internationally in 2001?

Come past and vote for your top 10s male and female. We've endeavoured to
provide a list of the most likely candidates, taking all Aussies ranked in
top 50 or so by IAAF, all national champions, all athletes competing in
individual events at Edmonton plus a few others. We have chosen to exclude
juniors unless competitive at senior level. We are happy to hear arguments
for excluded candidates (and rewrite code to include any oversights).

Voting closes Sept 30, results some time thereafter.

By the way last time we did this was 1998.
