At the European 10,000m Challenge in Barakaldo, ESP on 07-Apr-2001, Israeli
athlete, Ayle Seteine (or Haile Satain, as his name has also appeared) ran
29:48.78. According to David Eiger, ATFS Israel, his official birthdate is
April 11, 1955. I believe this is a world record for M45.
Eiger cautions, however, that Seteine himself claims to be born in 1960 or
1962, and there was a typical
beaurocratic mistake in his native Ethiopia. However, as he didn't do
anything in order to "correct" his documents.
Should this mark be accepted as a world age-group record?
