Hello Rob and Mike,
Just wanted to take a moment to welcome you both to my Yahoo group. I
have to confess I haven't been around much lately because of my
schoolwork (or "uni" as Rob refers to it...Americans just call
it "college" mostly!) But the semester is over so I have a month off
before my next class. I only take one class per semester but it's
hard
to find the time to study the recommended minimum 8 hours per week,
because I'm also committed to training and volunteering. But Systema
is
very important to me and somehow I always find the time to make it to
class.
I'm glad the past journals are still enjoyed by the members of this
group. Currently I'm working on some notes from Emmanuel Manalokakis'
seminar at Fighthouse on December 2nd and 3rd. Here's a link to the
flyer if you are interested to read more about the instructor:
http://www.fighthouse.com/systema/Emmanuel%2005.pdf
They were great seminars, we covered ground work, knives, multiple
attackers, strikes, and some subtle fundamental exercises to learn
more
about ourselves. It's funny how even the simplest exercises take
on a new dimension when training with a great teacher like Emmanuel.
I look forward to sharing more with you as I complete my notes from
those two days. Meanwhile, welcome you to the group and happy
training!
*Vsego nailuchshego* (best wishes),
Rachel

away. My name is Rob. I have just graduated from uni and have a keen
interest in systema. I look forward to discussing this wonderful
discipline with all of you. Rachel, you're doing a fantastic job as
moderator. I've read a few of your journals and they're great. Just
wanted to say thanks. Anyways, all of you take care and we'll catch
up
soon, Rob.
