Jen and I have moved (for the last time for at least 1.5 years) - as Jen was offered a great job here in Toowoomba. Sadly my mobile phone is broken - but you can contact me on the phone number at the bottom of this page.
Michael Conroy from Byron Bay also recently moved here and we are launching classes/study group here (details below). Cost will be $7 (as normal). We will also be available for training on weekends in the park - and I am available for one-on-one or small group sessions during the day on Thurs and Friday.
I hope to see some of you guys here soon, and I will also endeavour to get back to brisbane in the near future for another workshop.
Wooo!! Yeah I had an awesome time. Was damn sore the next day though. Thanks for bruising my ribs Shane. I think those shoes might be Aarons...
Thankyou Andrew for all your hard work in organising the seminars etc. Great stuff. Next time i'll have to get you to hit me a bit harder though ;)

A personal thanks to you Andrew! You have made all this possible. Without your enthusiasm and drive, I'd still be studying from videos. Each seminar, workshop has benefited me greatly.
To everyone else i have ever trained with thank you too. I am a mad systema fan, absolutely love it, I want to training more.

G'Day Everyone.
Just a short note to let you all know that the Lawnton study group is
now going to start at 7pm instead of 6:30pm. Still meeting on Monday
nights at the Lawnton Community Hall corner of Todds Rd and Ellis St
Lawnton.
See you all then.
Stuart.
One of the main reasons folks are attracted to the martial arts is
the implied or stated benefit of becoming stronger, more confident,
and tougher.
In many dojos, without question, you'll achieve these goals.
When you step onto the mat you'll spar with fewer fears and
butterflies, be able to withstand kicks and strikes, and
authoritatively pay them back in kind.
But when you put on your street gear, and especially those business
or work outfits, do you shrink from being a king of the mat to a
doormat?
Are you just as likely as you ever were to defer to others more than
you'd care to, more than they deserve?
Do you go way, way out of your way to squelch conflict, thus becoming
unnecessarily passive, an indirect communicator, and an inadvertent
abettor of bullies?
Dojos should, as part of their curricula, give their
members "homework," just as traditional schools do. But in this case
the homework is more like a "lab" assignment, where your laboratory
is the outside world.
Every week, dojo members should be held to account for
their "application assignments."...

Sorry - we'll also spend some time going over "Systema kicking". Very
interesting and not a topic often covered.

Subject: [systemaAustralia] Post Alex Kostic Workshop
Hi (Brisbane) Guys,
I am going to the 4 day seminar with Alex Kostic over Easter. I was wondering if we can organise a full day of training in Brisbane a couple of weeks after that (so early April) so I can share what Alex K taught for those who missed out.
Ideally if Aaron or Shayne are up for it having it at someones house would be ideal so we can keep costs down ($10 each to cover my petrol etc).
Spread the word and see who is interested, it would be nice if we can make it a good session. Let me know of dates that suit and who is interested (maybe a 5 - 6 hour session)
I am very interested. I am sad that I cannot afford to see Alex Kostic :( I would love to come to a Brissy seminar day. Keep me posted.

G'Day Everyone,
Yep, Just a reminder that that the Lawnton Systema Study Group is
meeting every Monday night at the Community Hall Corner of Todds Rd and
Ellis St Lawnton. Topics for study for the next few weeks are:
Takedowns, going to ground (safely as possible) and rolling. Following
this we might look at some knife work and "simple" weapons.
Are Monday nights a problem? If so let Shayne or myself know, and if
the majority would prefer a different day we can look at this option.
Thanks,
Stuart.

My place is an option. I live about 10 min drive from the Lawnton hall
where we have our Monday night sessions.
Any weekend except April 12 - 13 for me.

Dear Andrew,

seminar but we'll see what happens.

No I am organising this one without Adams help - just less confusing that way. And as per my just sent email - the Melbourne leg of Kevin's seminar has been moved to Sydney.

Hey Andrew the Melb seminar sounds good. Are you and Adam working together?
One seminar will be in Melbourne and the other will be in Queensland.
Let me know your thoughts guys for the Queensland one:
1. I just hire out the PCYC again
2.(my prefered option) I put a package deal together for hotel accomodation in Noosa and the whole thing becomes a bit of a holiday - that way families can come up and enjoy a weekend away too...
I am currently in discussion to bring kevin Secours out to Australia again for another seminar or two. We are looking at late October and I am contemplating holding 2 seperate seminars:
One in Melbourne and one in either Brisbane/sunshine coast OR Sydney.
At this stage I am looking for expressions of interest and if you all think you'd be interested in another Secours seminar? I am sure we could get a great turn out in Melbourne but I'd just like to give people the heads up and see what people reckon
