Looks like a great tour to do when it's a bit warmer! Some great scenery to be riding through. Like your idea of vertical meters counting more than kilometers. Our most recent painful rides were the Evansdale to Miena that was hard and the first few days of the NSW Escapade last year.
We've booked in for the Queensland ride which hopefully wont be to cold.
Are you going ATBIAD this year? I will be but not sure if Marian will have time.

Well, we did it with no great dramas other than the speedo giving up the ghost after it got wet and cold. And my legs and bum starting to object by Day 5 - have decided that 4 days in a row is enough, then I'm demanding a rest day. Marc also decided that in future we should limit the total metres climbed in a day (particularly on a fully loaded tandem) rather than worry about total kilometres!
Didn't even get a flat!
