Cycling for a cause. This one really is crazy... because riding
around and around a velodrome for nigh on 24 hours is NOT what we'd
normally do for cycling fun!

Marc and I have been conned into doing this ROMAC ride.
www.romac.org.au/news/coffs

ROMAC is Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children - bringing children
needing surgery into Australia for life saving ops..

http://www.romac.org.au/what

500km/24 hours/1500 laps of the Coffs Harbour velodrome. In a few
weeks time. (Arrrghhh!)

We're making ride history being the first tandem entrants! We have
got the business sponsorship required, but I'd like to think we could
scrape up some more donations here and there!! (Especially from
other cyclists..)

I do know how inundated we can all be with fundraising requests - and
you cannot possibly support everyone, so please don't stress or feel
obliged. If, like us, however, you donate here and there to worthy
causes when you can, and throw in the receipt as a tax deduction,
consider this as me getting in fairly early in the financial year to
hit you up!

I probably feel less of a fraud hassling people for this one (as
opposed to other fundraising rides) because it is certainly not a
ride I would otherwise be doing for the hell of it! Our backsides
will be earning every dollar, let me tell you!

Anyway, while there is an online donation option on the ROMAC
website, it doesn't specifically get earmarked as being with the
ride, so best not to use that. (Unfortunately.)

Sooo...

If you're up for a donation, you could send a cheque to us (Marc and
Tracey Schmidt) 37 Bluegum Ave, Sandy Beach, 2456. Cheque made out to
ROMAC Ltd. Make sure you include a return address, and I'll send a
tax receipt back.

Alternatively, if you'd rather deposit into our bank account, I'll
pay the cash on your behalf to romac, and send you a receipt back.
Email me via trace(at)exemail.com.au and I'll give you all the info.

Thanks!!

Trace
and Marc

(he steers the bike and fixes the punctures, and does all the bike
maintenance.. and I do all this stuff... pffft!!)
