Road rules for all
Why should cyclists, who use roads built for all vehicles, avoid
road tax(Letters, September 2-3)? Why should they avoid having road-
worthy certificates, third party insurance, examinations on the road
rules and identification plates? Damage is done by cyclists as well.
They go through red lights, cause accidents, charge across crowded
pedestrian crossings and mount the footpath when things are not
moving on the roads. Other road users have to put up with all sorts
of fees, charges and regulations for the actions of a few, why not
responsible cyclists? Steve Durham Northbridge
