Hi everyone,
My advise to everybody is to please avoid riding through Kranji, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang Road\Old Lim Chu Kang Road\Jalan Bahar at night or even in the early hours of the morning (before sunrise).
I have never taken my bicycle through this route since I started competitive cycling in 1994. I believe that this stretch of road is the quietest, loneliest and possibly darkest in Singapore before and after the sun rises and sets.

For your information, there was a very serious accident mid last year along Lim Chu Kang Road which involved cyclists only. The crash was caused by a stone (rock) which the leading cyclist did not see due to the dimly lit lights along LCK, and the SPEED of the ride, which did not give the riders who were pacing him, enough time and space to brake. This caused the domino effect., and brought down more than 3 cyclists. One lady cyclist suffered a head injury and a broken collar bone.
I was informed that the invisible depression on the road from LCK to Jalan Bahar recently caused a bicycle accident at night. This cyclist did not see (expect) the hole...I presume he crashed head first. This put him in hospital.
It may be wise to be practical and sensible about your choice of cycling route, especially if you really REALLY must do that night ride.
Do however please be aware of the road conditions wherever you go, and whatever time of day you ride.
POWER for the start
FORMATION so you remember to get into line
SETTLE so you get comfortable
CONTROL so you can relish every moment of the ride on your bike o_o

Noor

Thought you would like to know that this was posted on ANZA'a site on 5-6-2007
Kranji riders beware after Lim Chu Kang as you continue along Jalan Bahar.
There is a nasty depression in the road which you can't see until you're
on top of it, so it's very difficult to call.
Has the potential to bring people down - effects the left hand side of the
peleton.
