Dear Swamis and FOS (Friends of Swamis)

I was having lunch with Chris E and talking about the 8^th stage on Sun Feb 22.  The question I have been asking people for a few days is “ Should we be at the top of Palomar for the stage or the finish?”  Most people said the top of Palomar, but Chris took out his detail route sheet and said “What if we could be at both at the KOM & Escondido for the finish?”

It looks like we could have approximately 2 hours to have the peloton ride by us on the top of Palomar and then ride to the finish.  Does this sound like the start of a plan for the day? 

So…..

1.       Can you ride up Palomar in the morning?

2.       Hang out on the top of the mountain for a few hours and see all the fun?

3.       See Lance and the gang ride by?

4.       Get on your bike and ride like hell back to Escondido in 2 hours to see the finish?

If you think you can we have the start of a great day

The next step to make it a perfect day is to:

1.       Find a restaurant near the finish

2.       Invite our non cycling friends and family to the finish and a restaurant for dinner after the race

3.       If there is enough of us -  Rent out a restaurant for the evening (or a portion)

So the big questions are:

1.       Are you interested (email me to create a list)

2.       Do you have a connection or idea of a restaurant that makes sense

3.       Interested enough to take this idea and run with it (So I do not have to…)
