So I see that a few of you are racing this weekend, I have revised my schedule now, I will do the 9:30 mens 4 crit in the morning and then I want to drive up to the torrance crit for the 330 mens 4. If I was older I could just do two races at the same venue, but my youth forces me to drive all over the freakin place. so if anyone wants to come with me i will drive. Maybe you will joel... Subject: Becky Quinn
Swamis-
Many of you know Becky Quinn, one of the U.S team's top trackies and a
regular on both the Reynolds and Swamis Rides. On Sunday, Becky competed in
Track Worlds in LA in the Scratch Race.
In turn 4 of the final lap, Becky was positioned in about 5th place. She
saw a small gap between two riders in front of her and went for it. The
rider above her wanted none of this and closed the little gap there was,
forcing Becky's front wheel into the pedal of the rider below her. Major
crash ensued with Becky getting T-boned by the rider behind her and others
riding over her. She broke her collarbone and several ribs, one of which
punctured a lung. She also bruised her heart. She's still in the hospital
in Torrance (Little Company of Mary Hospital on Torrance Blvd). Hopefully,
she'll be back in SD this weekend. She should have a full recovery but
she'll be off the bike for some time.
I know she'd appreciate any good thoughts you can send her. She has trained
so hard and so long for this-it's a big disappointment for her. --Don [This message contained attachments]

Subject: Weekend update - Palomar / Team TT / Redlands
There is always the standard ride from Panera on Saturday and Sunday @ 8am
Some extra activities this weekend...
This is short notice, but a few of us are going..
Palomar ride Saturday from the Base of Palomar mtn only
Longer Ride 7am - Up Palomar twice from the West and then the East
Shorter ride 8am - Up Palomar once from the East
Start Location
Between the towns of Rincon and Pauma Valley, approximately 1 mile North
West of the intersection of 76 and Valley Center Rd (on 76) there will be a
parking lot on the NE side of the road, with a market and a restaurant.
This is not "THE STORE" @ 76 and Valley Ctr that we start the climb at. It
takes about 50 minutes from Carlsbad to get there

Sunday Team TT practice @ Fiesta Island 7am
We had a good TTT meeting last night at Round Table (Thanks again Bob). As
always Ryan did a great job explaining all the ins and outs of Team Time
Trialing. Come out early on Sunday (remember we spring forward) and see
what it is all about. Ryan will be on the Vespa barking his great
direction. Bring your bike with Aero bars and have some fun. BEING ON A
TEAM IS NOT REQUIRED. WE WILL FIND A GROUP FOR YOU TO TRAIN WITH. DO NOT
WORRY ABOUT YOUR ABILITIES. ALL ABILITIES WILL BE REPRESENTED.
