-The Swami's Cycling Club began as the Coast club where the fit, tan, helmetless riders cruised Highway 101 and looking good. This was before the era of big-budget local racing and Swami's supported a small team composed of high-quality racers like Chris Horner, Rich Meeker, Todd Brydon and our Jane Cosemetics Team (a national level women's team).
-The club has grown, from it's humble beginnings into a major 200+ member regional organization. Swami's is back to its roots, a social club with support of racing by its members and sponsored developmental team. However, do not be deceived by the 'social' part of the club description. The Infamous Saturday Swami's ride has grown and grown to the point of snowballing up to 100+ riders as it rolls north on the coast, then shedding them like grains burning off a meteorite as it goes ballistic in the hills.
-Chat with the friendly club members. Have coffee with us at Nytro in Encintias or Starbucks @ the Lumberyard. Go anaerobic out thru Elfin Forest. Try not to throw up as you hang onto the last wheel.
