the place they told me: http://www.joinusherenow.info/mgfyi , but what do you
guys reckon? Myself, I actually think it is pretty awesome from what I've seen,
and Im considering getting on there later on this evening. If you don't know
what it is, basically its like a matchingplace, but has few added things I
noticed. Stuff like messenger, vidchat, picsrate, etc. Best part is you can talk
to ppl on vidchat even if you don't have it enabled yourself.

What you are about to read might sound unusual but it could be very
enlightened...

What is Ramadhan?

Ramadhan is that time of the year when Muslims recharge their spiritual
batteries. For a whole month, they fast from dawn to sunset, and offer
additional prayers at night. After the end of Ramadhan comes one of the two
Muslim festivals, a day of Eid. On this day, Muslims thank God for His guidance
and grace in helping them to control their baser desires and fulfill their
spiritual needs.

Muslims agree on all the fundamentals of the fast. This makes the fasting a
worldwide phenomenon observed by the devoted among the world’s more than one
billion Muslims as one international community. Ramadhan is the ninth month of
the Muslim year, which follows the lunar calendar. Each month begins with a
sighting of the moon’s crescent and lasts for 29 or 30 days until a sighting of
the next month’s crescent.

Ramadhan is the month in which the Qur’an was revealed as guidance for all
mankind. It is a criterion by which to distinguish truth from falsehood. The
prophet Muhammad, on whom be peace, said that on each day of Ramadhan God frees
many souls from the Fire of Hell. Muslims should introduce the Quran’s teachings
to others so that they too can have the opportunity to be free.

Fasting is a major feature of Islam. Many religions recognize the benefits of
fasting, but only Islam institutes a whole month of it to secure its benefits
for all its adherents. God prescribes in His Book that all able-bodied Muslims
must fast. This will develop in them a consciousness that will help them towards
right conduct and prevent them from wrongdoing. To obtain this result, a Muslim
must stick to both the formal and informal aspects of the fast. The formal
aspects include abstaining from food, drink and sexual intercourse.

The informal aspects of the fast are just as important. The fasting person must
abstain from lying, cheating, argumentation, fighting, foul language and every
sort of evil. In this month, one has to cultivate a lasting awareness of God,
and a keen sense to observe His commandments throughout the year. The Prophet
Muhammad, on whom be peace, said that if someone does not give up falsehood in
speech and actions, God has no need for such a one to give up his food and
drink.

This does work, I have received four FREE iPods so far. I sold the
last one on eBay for £185/$335.

No money is needed all you need to do is go onto the website fill in
your details and get 5 other people to do the same.

You then have to sign up for a free trial of something, for example
dvd rental, and then cancel it after 5 days once you recieve your
credit, and you pay no money!

You will then be sent your free ipod through the post for no
charge.

This is a legitimate offer from companies who are crying out for
people to choose their products over larger corporations. This
scheme is operating within the US,UK and Canada.

I am as sceptical as the next person until I saw a news report on
BBC Newsnight:

The BBC reports make clear, advertisers are increasingly having
to 'bribe' the consumer into testing their product. The companies
act as a gateway between the advertiser and you. In return for
referring you to the customer the company receives commission. You
get your IPOD and the advertiser get the attention they want-
simple!

Wired News also ran an article on how people were getting their free
iPods and how the scheme is genuine and works:

There's a lot of members, but I've yet to see any posts about surfing.

I'll start: WestPort, WA, Labor Day weekend.

Water temp was up, board shorts kind of balmy 60 degree water. Epic.
The waves in the evening glassed off really nicely each day as the
wind died. Sets came peaking in 4-6 feet in nice intervals in the
set. It was nice, not too crowded.

I'm back to work today, hoping to go surfing instead of working, but
such is life.

Treat Them Kindly
Prisoners of War

“Treat the prisoners of war kindly.”
No, this is not a statement in the Geneva Conventions summarizing the rights of
POWs. This is the Prophet Muhammad’s instruction to his Companions more than
1400 years ago. Islam has set down rules for warfare, detailing when Muslims
should fight, whom they should fight, and how they should fight.

In the time of the Prophet Muhammad, the Muslims set an unprecedented standard
for the ethics of dealing with captured enemies. They treated prisoners of war
in a manner that has yet to be imitated in history. Islam set the basic rule
that the captive is protected by his captivity and the wounded by his injury.

Islam instructs Muslims either to free captives who cannot offer ransom (in the
form of
money or an equivalent number of Muslim captives) or to ransom prisoners of war.

Prisoners of war are not to be humiliated or degraded in any way. They have the
right to their human dignity and the right to be protected from sexual,
emotional, and physical abuse. Sufficient health care should be provided for
prisoners who need it. Proper food and clothing should also be provided, as well
as sanitary facilities. The Prophet also instructed his Companions to shelter
their prisoners from the summer sun and to provide them with water to drink.

Captives are invited to learn about Islam, but they are under no pressure
whatsoever to convert.
[Thereisnocompulsioninreligion(Al-Baqarah2:256)meansthatsincerityisanessential]
requirement of one’s faith, so, therefore, no one can be coerced to become a
Muslim nor should anyone convert to seek some worldly benefit.
The Qur’an describes the righteous:
[Andthey,thoughtheyholditdear,givesustenancetotheindigent,theorphanandthecaptive\
.(Saying)wefeedyouforthesakeofGodalone:norewarddowedesirefromyou,northanks(Al-In\
san76:8-9)].

Relating how the Companions complied strictly with the Prophet’s instructions on
treating POWs, one of the prisoners of the Battle of Badr, Huzayr ibn Humayr,
said: “I was with one of the Ansari families, after being taken as captive.
Whenever they had lunch or dinner, they used to give me preference by providing
me with bread while they’d eat only dates, in compliance with the Prophet’s
order to treat prisoners well.”

Another, Thamama ibn Athal, was taken prisoner and brought to the Prophet, who
said, “Be good to him in his captivity.” When the Prophet went home, he asked
that any food in his house be collected and sent to Thamama.
Later, the Prophet approached him respectfully and inquired whether Thamama
could ransom himself: “What have you, Thamama?” He replied, “Actually I have a
lot going for me. If you kill me, you kill a man whose blood will surely be
avenged. If you are generous, then you are generous to a man who knows how to be
grateful. If you are after money, then ask of me whatever amount you like.”

The Prophet left him and on the second day when he approached him, Thamama said
basically the same thing. On the third day, the Prophet said, “Let Thamama go.”

They unbound him and let him go. He went on his way, quickly took a bath and
returned, declaring, “I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and I bear
witness that you are the Messenger of Allah. O Muhammad! I swear to Allah that
there was no man on the face of the Earth whom I hated more than you. Now you
have become to me the dearest of men. And I swear by Allah that there was no
religion on earth more loathsome to me than your religion, but now it is the
most beloved to me of all religions. There was no country on earth more despised
by me than your country, yet now I love it more than any other country in the
world.”

The Islamic ethics of treating prisoners of war is part of the whole system of
Islamic ethics, which places utmost importance on the preservation of human
dignity and rights. This principle extends from the rights of the unborn child
to the rights of women, the elderly, non-Muslims living in a Muslim country, to
aggressive enemies captured as prisoners of war. Each human being has inherent
value and distinction as God’s creation.

Since September 11th, 2001 A renewed interest in Islam has been found
by the media. But are the right questions being asked? Is Islam a
religion of peace? If so, is it a political, economic and judicial
system consistent with a democratic society?

What is Khilafism? Does a khilafate recognize such modern devices
as "Equal protection under the law"? Does a political system that once
took children away from their parents as a form of taxation have a

This forum introduces select news stories from the media that will,

What you are about to read might sound unusual but it could be very

Examples of the Prophet Muhammad’s Sayings
-----------------------------------------------

{The believers, in their love, mercy, and kindness to one another are like a
body: if any part of it is ill, the whole body shares its sleeplessness and
fever.}

{The most perfect of the believers in faith are the best of them in morals. And
the best among them are those who are best to their wives.}

{None of you believes (completely) until he loves for his
brother what he loves for himself.}

{The merciful are shown mercy by the All-Merciful. Show mercy to those? on
earth, and God will show mercy to you.}

{Smiling at your brother is charity...}

{A good word is charity.}

{Whoever believes in God and the Last Day (the Day of Judgment) should do good
to his neighbor.}

{God does not judge you according to your appearance and your wealth, but He
looks at your hearts and looks into your deeds.}

{Pay the worker his wage before his sweat dries.}

{A man walking along a path felt very thirsty. Reaching a well, he descended
into it, drank his fill, and came up. Then he saw a dog with its tongue hanging
out, trying to lick up mud to quench its thirst. The man said, “This dog is
feeling the same thirst that I felt.” So he went down into the well again,
filled his shoe with water, and gave the dog a drink. So, God thanked him and
forgave his sins.} The Prophet was asked, “Messenger of God, are we rewarded for
kindness towards animals?” He said: {There is a reward for kindness to every
living animal or human}.

I send you today a good article. It could be new and adds to your knowledge :)

From Ignorance to Islam

By Zaynab

My father does not believe in a god, neither does he disbelieve, he is somewhere
in the middle waiting for proof. Being an accountant, everything must visibly
add up, all expenditures need to be declared and nothing can remain hidden.
Unfortunately this train of thought has been carried over into his thinking of
'why are we here' and therefore, until some physical proof presents itself, he
will remain undecided.

My mother does believe in God. However, she has been got at by a Jehova's
witness. My mother's mother has died and as a result she cannot accept the fact
that there is a hell. It seems that by my mother accepting the fact that there
is a hell will somehow increase the chances of her mother being there. Therefore
my mother chooses to believe in the teachings of the J.W.'s as this is easier
for her. I myself pray for my nan and hope that Allah SWT will show mercy on
her, whatever her present position may be.

My upbringing did not really include anything about God. I was christened,
although I am not sure why, I would guess that this happened as it was the 'done
thing' in my family. In addition I have vague memories of going to Sunday
school, and of course the religious education later at school, which could be
re-named 'Christian education' as no other religions ever got a look in.

Without any firm religious values, I lived my life according to my own set of
moral values. Basically I just used to drift from one point of view to the next,
and do my best to 'fit in' with whichever group of people I was with. I did have
a belief in God, although I have to admit that I did not do a lot about it.

Then I met a Muslim. This opened new channels of discussions, and re-kindled the
flame of my belief in God. Many a conversation took place on all sorts of
topics, the existence of God, Heaven and Hell, other religions, the Holy Prophet
and his Family PBUT, even topics such as what was the point of dinosaurs, and
aliens.

Everything was a muddle in my mind, question after question I asked, and to each
question there was an answer that satisfied it. I was confused though, if this
religion was so correct, why hadn't I heard about it already? What about all the
kind people I had met that were not Muslims, surely their good deeds would
count?
Why do you have to become a Muslim if you live your life properly, i.e. do not
steal, commit adultery etc. etc.?

As time passed I soon realised that I was just searching for excuses. I knew
that Islam was correct, but I needed to dig deep to find the courage to change.
No longer could I hide behind a wall of questions and 'what ifs', it was time to
stand up and be part of something that I believed in.

I was very nervous, every few minutes my stomach churned, rushes of adrenal
waves through my body. It was the night that I would declare myself a Muslim and
change the rest of my life. I was sure about my decision to revert, but scared
at the prospect at the same time, conflicting emotions and feelings taking it in
turns to pop into my head, but all along I knew that Truth would win.

The time had come, we gathered in a group. I repeated everything that the Imam
said to me, I hung onto every syllable and repeated as best I could, I was
afraid that if I didn't pronounce the Arabic words properly then my declaration
would not count, and it had to count. I went into a kind of dream world, feeling
as if this wasn't really me, I was watching someone else. The emotions started
to rise, I looked around and realised that I was not alone with my tears.

My declaration was touching the hearts of those around me. The Imam then said a
number of prayers for me and also for my family, I felt somehow indebted to him,
I felt the need to repay him in some way for what he had enabled me to become.
Tears continued to roll as this pious Imam asked me to pray for him that night.
How could one of my prayers be worth anything when compared to his? We shared a
cup of water, I was allowed to drink first, followed by all my good friends, I
was now part of what they stood for. I had been accepted.

From that point onwards I was a Muslim, not only had this been witnessed by
those around me, but also by all the Prophets PBUT, who I was told grace every
declaration with their presence. I felt so honoured that I could hardly believe
it.

The final part of the transformation was to wash. I needed to purify myself and
all my sins would now be forgiven, as if they had been washed down the plug hole
with the soapy water. It was as if I had just been born, from now on it would be
up to me.

The world now appeared differently to me. I noticed aspects of people that I had
missed before, I was much more aware of good and evil around me. I could look
back at my past and it really felt as if that wasn't me at all, I had a feeling
that I had been given a whole new life, and I had been detached from my previous
actions.

This carried with it a responsibility, a desire not to blemish my new clean
record. I had so much to learn, so much to read and take in. I had to be
different towards people at work and even my own family, I had to get rid of
clothes, books and pictures, now that I had been purified I had to make an
attempt to purify my surroundings.

With the help I have had from Allah SWT, I have now found the true path, and
take the Holy Prophet and his Family PBUT as my examples to follow, I must try
and remember them with my every thought. My only wish now is that they may
remember me on the Day of Judgement.
