Hello all,
First, welcome to all the new people & thanks for the compliment
James it is appreciated. Second, about posting things to this club,
I approve almost everything that is not offensive, derogatory or
just plain rude. If someone does not like my picks for a race or a
track you can & are encouraged to say something but be polite about
it & wait for my explanation as to why I picked a horse.
Sometimes picking ahead of scracthes, weather & assorted other
changes is not easy & I have not the time to adjust every track's
selections even when I get that information. Anyone's picks,
including mine, should be used as a tool to aid your own
handicapping. The point of this game is about making money, period.
It is not about volume of winners though @ a certain level you
should have a good mix of volume & prices. I pick horses to that
end. I try to beat the favorite whenever I can but that does not
mean that I toss them out of the handicapping equation. My win
percentage as a selector has been about 30% (slightly below the
track favorite hit rate) but I have shown a flat bet profit for 4
years running & that is no easy feat. My actual win bet % for my
personal betting is about 34% because I know how to adjust my picks
on the fly after changes.
Anyway, people post what you like, have fun & hopefully we will all
learn a little something that helps us make more money in the long
run because that should be the end goal of handicapping horses.
