SSHA Members,
We will be having a meeting this Thurs. at 7pm at MaSu's. Our Breed
Shows present and future will be discussed. Sandy W. forgot to add one
deposit to the shows spread sheet so we were very worried that we had
lost money. The costs were up this year but we did make some money. We
will be discussing places to hold next years show the 3rd weekend in
Sept. There was a mix up and Canterbury booked that weekend which we
thought they had set aside for us. Instead they booked the same
weekend for us as we had this year which will not work as we will have
the Regional Finals this year.
The other topic for discussion will be officers for next year. We need
a slate to be voted on in Dec. If you have an interest in holding an
office or would like to nominate someone please email or call a member
you know will be attending.
As always I would like to remind everyone that in order to keep having
the Breed Shows we need volunteers. It is one weekend a year of your
time or some time spent helping with pre-show work if you are busy at
the shows.
Hope to see you Thursday, Oct. 16th at 7pm at MaSU'S. Thank you to all
members that worked hard to make this years Breed Shows a success. Candy

Michele,
One of my best friends was kicked in the face years ago and, remembering her ordeal all too well, I hope that Monica’s injury was not as severe. Our horses are usually so easy and gentle, but due to their size, a moment’s foolishness or fractiousness can put our lives at jeopardy. Please give Monica my very best wishes for a rapid and full recovery.
When things like this occur, shows are of little consequence. Sending hugs to you and yours!

Candy,
I think it went very well indeed. There is no way that it could have gone so
well without the ton of hard work that you and Sandy W put into the prep
work. You go, ladies!!

Subject: [sunshinesporthorse] Open horse shows at the Florida Horse Park
I am meeting with the director of events this weekend at the Florida Horse Park in Ocala to discuss putting on an open horse show series. (Halter, western, english, possibly some lower hunter classes) I figured I would put the word out because if there is enough interest, we could make this a very big club. Since I have lived in the area, I have been very shocked that Ocala does not have a riding or horse show club of some sort. I figured that Sparr has done very well and so has Williston, but there is nothing right here in Ocala. I figured we would do the 3rd or 4th weekend of the month so we wouldn't interfere with those two clubs. I would love to get the show PAC approved with APHA. The new QH program is kind of a pain in the butt, but if there is interest, we can figure something out. Once I talk to this lady, I am sure we will plan to have a meeting and I plan on putting something in the Horse N Pony. If anybody has any ideas, please pass them along to me.
Talk to you soon,
Amy B

Our Aug. Meeting is this Thursday and we will be discussing the
upcoming Breed Shows. We need everyone to pitch in! If you need entry
forms go to www.sunshinesporthorses.org and you will see the entry
forms to download. We are not sending a mailing out. If you are unable
to get forms off the website please let us know and we will get some
to you. Hope to see you at MaSu's this Thursday, the 14th at 7pm.
Please remember to bring ponies to the Breed show as SSHA is giving
out our own award for the High Score Pony each show. We were asked by
pony breeders to do this so we need you to participate! Candy
Welcome Amy!
We have a very good group of breeders in our Association. Our next

Please come to a meeting. The location is Micanopy. We would love to
hear more about you.

Hi everybody. I am new to the group and just wanted to introduce
myself. My name is Amy and I have a small breeding farm in Belleview.
I am about 10 miles south of Ocala. I am very interested in learning
more about sport horses. I want to show my youngsters hunter in hand,
but want to start going to some shows to learn more about it. I
discovered your web site tonight. Didn't even know there was a Florida
club, so I am pretty excited about that. I e-mailed somebody and
offered to volunteer at your September show. I am excited about
meeting new people and learning more about sport horses! Thanks a lot,
Amy

There will not be a July SSHA meeting. The Aug. meeting will be a week early. The 2nd Thurs. of July, the 14th, we will meet at 7pm at MaSu's. It is important that you attend as we will discuss and firm up commitments for our two Breed Shows Sept.6th and 7th!We need workers and this is the one time a year we count on SSHA members to help. The Breed classes attached to the Summer Sizzler went well but Carly was unable to get a Breed Show Judge for Aug. so the Breed classes are cancelled. Please email or call me or Sandy Werner if you are able to scribe, score, etc. we are relying on you. Georgia will be having two qualifier shows and the regional finals the weekend following our shows. Just incase you all forgot our shows are at Canterbury this year. Hope to see you at the Aug.14th meeting! Candy

Members,
As always our June meeting will be at MaSu's the third Thursday
06/19/08. Sandy Werner is having her annual party at her farm next Sat.
June 7th starting at 6pm and hopes you will attend.
We will need some help with the Breed Shows held at the Summer Sizzlers
this July and Aug. Please let me know if you will help! You can get
information/entry forms at the Canterbury Showplace website. These will
be due soon and be sure and include your horses breeding on the entry
as well as a copy of papers, coggins, association membership cards for
you,rider/handler horse etc.It is great that Carly does this for us so
let's make it all go smoothly for her. If you are interested in an ad
in the program I think a business size ad is $25. Please get your money
and wording to Carly as ASAP as time is close. Thanks! Candy
SSHA Members,
We will meet this Thurs. at MaSu's at 7pm,15th of May. At the last
meeting Sandy W. said she would contact Carly about the Breed Classes
during the Summer Sizzlers. Carly has sent the paper work in. Our Sept.
shows are rolling along and as always we are asking for volunteers to
make them a success. They will be at Canterbury this year. A big "THANK
YOU" to Sandy L. for letting us have them at Pennock Point in the past.
We had a good turn out at the last meeting and I hope to see many of
you there this Thurs. Candy
Hi everyone! I am amazed that Spring is here. I know everyone is busy
with foals, shows and their lives. I hope you will be able to attend
next Thursday's meeting at 7pm at MaSu's. The date is the 17th of
April. In case you had not heard, Pat Sullivan's mare was Circuit
Champ. at HITS. Congrats to Pat and Kate Wills her rider! Hope to hear
lots of foal updates and please send pics and news of your foals to
MaryLou for the website. Remeber that this is a new year and dues need
to be paid if you have not already done so. Sandy W. has been busy
updating our prize list because of Canterbury being our facility this
year. Georgia will be hosting the Regionals the weekend after our two
qualifiers and they too will have two qualifiers before Sun. pm
Regional classes. We will keep everyone updated on show info as we go.
See you all next week at MaSu's Thurs. 7pm Thanks! Candy
