Tenbroeck.
I'm about a 50% shot to be there, maybe less if it rains.

I'll be out of town this coming Sunday, which also applies to the rest of the weekends until mid-January.
And in terms of the rain yesterday, I did happen to go past the fields about 3:30 while doing some house-hunting, but didn't see anyone optimistic enough to think there would be a game going.

Are we playing next Sunday? In the past, we've sometimes
canceled these holiday weekend Sundays because it was clear that
many would not be available. I could make it, how many else
want to play the Sunday after Thanksgiving?

I think we've reached a consensus that we're going to try to start at
3:30 for the non-daylight savings time. Preston is going to email
AFDC and try to get them to change the website, and I saw a couple of
posts on the site forum. I hope this is a good compromise.
I've accumulated a couple of various items, claimable at first
request:
1. grey T-shirt, found a couple of weeks back superscript "Illini"
logo. I should
point out that I went to their rival school, and will very tempted to
use this item for nefarious purposes when the two teams play week
after next.
2. grey T-shirt, found yesterday, with "ESPN" logo. Nice heavy-
weight beefE T-style
shirt. I don't mind keeping it.
3. White, Ga. Tech "Tribe" disc, also a couple of weeks back; there's
a name-type marking on the back, but has become illegible. I'm
actually "owed" a disc by the game, having left one a couple years
back, so no guilt about hanging on to this either. This is part of
my continuing crusade against private disc ownership (think about it:
you can't use a disc by yourself, and if it's sitting in your house,
then it's just taking up space and somewhere, there might be people
who could use it) but then I'm just one of those stinking hippies who
voted for John Kerry because I want to hand over our country to the
terrorists.
Finally: Brooke & I have talked a little about asking AFDC to post a
link to this email group. They already announce the time & location
of the game itself, so it shouldn't change the amount of people we
see, and it would be an opportunity for us to say something about the
kind of game it is and what kind of people we like to have come out.
Does anyone have any ideas for some appropriate text? You can see
the sparse amount that's already there at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sundayulti. Your thoughts on this
topic are most welcome and encouraged.
I have to sign off now. It's after 11pm, and I haven't given aid or
comfort to the enemy all day.

Carter comes in third in the rankings. W, Michael, then JC. The pages are
ranked by the number of pages that link off each of these three sites in
relation to the search word.

OK, now I'm confused. Are you suggesting Jimmy Carter was a miserable failure? Or did Carter make some comment about W. that I'm not aware of?

O.k., so I didn't show last weekend. I'm
planning on it today. Life get's in the way. Just wanted to make
sure things weren't officially cancelled this weekend before I head
over there.

5:00 is also the time on the afdc website, so new/occasional players will
probably show up then as well.

I've been quite remiss in nominating Michael Bowers for your weekly reprobetry (for the record, I think scalawag is too tame for most of your recipients, but that's your business). If you've done it on your own initiative and I've missed it, my apologies and kudos.
As I'm sure you know, Michael Bowers was the lawyer behind the group of white library administrators' reverse-discrimination award against the Fulton County system, as well as a large minority vendors suit against Marta's fare collections contract. Ken, I don't think anyone would object to people who've been victimized bringing suit against those invoking unfair practices against them, but both of these suits have been for fairly large sums of money, paid not by the administrators accused, but by the entity charged with employing the violaters. The result - and Mr. Bower is no dummy here; he knows where to get the most butter for his bread - is that it's paid for by the taxpayers.
Now he's at it again. The reverse discrimination suit against the Dekalb CEO will no doubt name the County as a defendant, and any settlement will come against the pockets of the shire's taxpayers. I'm just guessing here, but do you think any of that will wind up at Mr. Bower's firm?
Ken, we miss having you at ultimate on Sundays - if you have some time, we'd love to have you come back for a game or two.
Hope you're well,
J.R.
P.S. I think if you investigate, you'll find some other, less-than-endearing positions taken by the former state Attorney General in his past.
I'm out of town this weekend, but should start making some more
cameo's a week or so.
