I think we've reached a consensus that we're going to try to start at
3:30 for the non-daylight savings time. Preston is going to email
AFDC and try to get them to change the website, and I saw a couple of
posts on the site forum. I hope this is a good compromise.
I've accumulated a couple of various items, claimable at first
request:
1. grey T-shirt, found a couple of weeks back superscript "Illini"
logo. I should
point out that I went to their rival school, and will very tempted to
use this item for nefarious purposes when the two teams play week
after next.
2. grey T-shirt, found yesterday, with "ESPN" logo. Nice heavy-
weight beefE T-style
shirt. I don't mind keeping it.
3. White, Ga. Tech "Tribe" disc, also a couple of weeks back; there's
a name-type marking on the back, but has become illegible. I'm
actually "owed" a disc by the game, having left one a couple years
back, so no guilt about hanging on to this either. This is part of
my continuing crusade against private disc ownership (think about it:
you can't use a disc by yourself, and if it's sitting in your house,
then it's just taking up space and somewhere, there might be people
who could use it) but then I'm just one of those stinking hippies who
voted for John Kerry because I want to hand over our country to the
terrorists.
Finally: Brooke & I have talked a little about asking AFDC to post a
link to this email group. They already announce the time & location
of the game itself, so it shouldn't change the amount of people we
see, and it would be an opportunity for us to say something about the
kind of game it is and what kind of people we like to have come out.
Does anyone have any ideas for some appropriate text? You can see
the sparse amount that's already there at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sundayulti. Your thoughts on this
topic are most welcome and encouraged.
I have to sign off now. It's after 11pm, and I haven't given aid or
comfort to the enemy all day.
