I'm gonna head out to the fields in a little bit, but I'm guessing when I get there I'm going to find messy fields, at best. I don't mind playing in slop, but some people do, and I probably won't play long if numbers are low.
I do have an alternate suggestion, though, for anyone who might be interested. My local bar, Trackside Tavern, is having their annual Soup cook-off today. For the price of a beer (or the beverage of your choice) you get to sample a host of wonderful creations, vote on up to 3, and enjoy football on their wide-screen TV. Let's face it - this is perfect weather for it.
Trackside Tavern is at 313 E. College Ave, a few doors east of S. Candler Street. From the fields, go up Columbia to the Citgo station (2nd light, I think) turn left, and go about 3 blocks. Trackside is on the left just before the next light, across from the old Depot. Parking is around back, enter off Candler.
See you there.

Subject: This Week (and Next Week) At Trackside
Hello, everyone.
This Friday, January 20th, Kodac Harrison and his Band will be playing, starting at 9:30. Kodac plays at Trackside on the third Friday of every month and invites different musicians to join him on stage each time.
Trackside's Annual Soup Cook-Off is happening this Sunday, January 22nd. Make a crock pot full of your favorite soup and bring it to Trackside at 3:00 PM. Judging starts at 4:00 and prizes will be awarded at 6:00. Everyone there gets to taste and vote for their favorite soup so please join us even if you can't cook. There will be prizes for first place ($60 Trackside tab), second place ($40 tab) and third place ($20 tab). Plan to arrive early, eat some bread and soup, and watch the NFL Playoffs on the large screen TV starting at 1:00.
Please join us on Saturday, January 28th for Tom and Deb Luttrell's Going Away Party, starting at 5:00 in the afternoon and continuing into the evening. Tom and Deb are moving to Michigan and the Trackside family is really going to miss them. We're going to have drink specials (courtesy of one of our vendors), appetizers and snacks, and Tom's brother, Tim, will be playing background music on the stage.
See you all soon,
Doc Al
