This only applies to you if you have a Yahoo! ID. If you are e-mail
only, don't worry about it.

Yahoo has revised its privacy policy. Your former marketing
preferences have now been changed by Yahoo. You will need to reset
them immediately if you do not want an inbox full of spam.

You may recall that when you signed up for your Yahoo ID/Mail
account, you were asked if you would like newsletters, offers, etc
mailed to you. Most of us checked no.

All of those settings have now been changed by Yahoo, and your
account is now set up as if you had asked for this mail to be sent to
you.

If you do not wish to receive these emailings, you will have to go to
your Yahoo account and change those settings. Here is how:

Here's how.

After logging in to Yahoo, click the tab at the top of the page that
says "ACCOUNT INFO."

Enter your password. When that page opens, scroll to just under your
listed email addresses.

Then click on "EDIT MARKETING PREFERENCES."

When that page opens, you'll see that Yahoo has set each option to
YES.You'll need to CLICK ON EACH OPTION to change it to NO.

Near the bottom of the page, be sure to
CHECK NO about PHONE AND POSTAL DELIVERY of advertising.

Click "SAVE CHANGES." This last step is Very Important.

NOTE: these settings have only been changed for those whose language
preferences are US. UK members do not have these marketing settings.
If your yahoo account is based outside the US, you might not have
this situation. Check to be sure, but if you do not see the "Edit
Marketing Preferences" Button, then your settings have probably not
been changed.

Thank you!
Gene
