I'm no ballast expert but I don't think that you want to just add 250lbs to
your trunk do you? Wouldn't it be better to spread out the weight in your
car and put it in the right places to try to get more to a 50/50 weight
distribution? You may have to weld or bolt mounts in place that you can add
weight plates to the right areas. Doing this on a car scale that can tell
you which corner has what weight would be good I would think. Again, I've
never done this myself and am basing my advice off of Nascar type technology
and computer weight ballast simulations that I've messed with before.
Ideally, you would be sitting in the driver seat when the weight
measurements are taken to take into account your body weight.

Subject: [SM] What is a ballast "segment"?
If I have to add 250lbs. to my trunk to meet weight, does that mean I
have to do it in 5 50 lb. "pieces"?
