Hey Ken,
Thanks for the e-mails. It's neat to hear from
another Bay Area/East Bay Strat player. I know they're
out there, but I have noticed, in my limited
experience, that many of them are unwilling to meet
for face to face play. Maybe it's just me; I don't
know. I've played different baseball board sims for
years--you name it, I've played it. I always come
back to Strat-O-Matic, regardless of what game I may
be playing or into at a given moment, which should
tell you something about Strat's appeal.
A face to face or PBM league would be a lot of fun.
I've never tried the online, netplay thing, and
because I'm a board gamer and Mac user I really can't
do the computer version thing, although it is very,
very good. Still, the netplay thing might be okay.
Sometimes playing against another human is nice.
As far as staying in touch, that would be great by me.
I have found, for whatever reason, that finding
fellow Strat players in the Bay Area to be
challenging. It's nice to meet someone else who loves
the game on my stomping grounds.
Later,
Matt
