I've not played the SOM college computer game yet- i've spent the last year
designing my own variable rules college football game. This has been a much
complicated journey since I've had to come up with terms like "universal rushing
yards against" average and other obscure terms i'm sure Steven Hawking would
find interesting.
I'm crunching stats now so that i can match ESPN's 2 best of all time-
95 Huskers against 01 Miami. BTW, if you know of some detailed stats for 95
Huskers let me know, trouble finding defensive stats!
Question on the pro game which i've not played in years and couldn't
find it in the rules- on the basic defense cards negative yardage readings
appear with an asterisk -8*, i know this is a sack of some sort but what does
the "*" mean?
Thanks,
Arnie

I have not played any of the SOM computer games--only the board
games. I am considering buying the college football game, but I have
one question...are the real players' names used, or is it a
general "QB Ohio State," etc?

Does anyone have opinions on this game, one way or the other?

I haven't seen the game, but I know that the plan was that the game
would not include the players' names or even team nicknames because of
"licensing issues." Players were to be identified by their respective
jersey numbers. However, SOM also planned to include a feature to let
you insert the names of the players and teams yourself.

Hope this helps,
