Dear all
Latest version of the spreadsheet has gone up on your sites this morning. Anne pointed out that I hadn't added the Women's HORR crew to the sheet, so all those that were in the 8 will have £16 extra on their fees.
I have now picked up all the internet transfers in Feb, March and April, and have added £1 to Mens & Womens Squad members fees to cover the bottle of Scotch that James bought for Ray as a birthday present. Hope this is ok with everyone.
Despite my earlier requests, no-one has put any cheques in the post box, or given me any cash over the last few days. Can you all make sure that you bring your outstanding fees with you on Saturday morning, or you will find that you are unable to row in the next regatta.
Please don't pour fat, oil and grease down sinks or drains because this leads to sewer blockages. Instead, collect the fat and mix it with seeds, nuts and raisins to make a "cake" for birds to eat or let it solidify in a container and put it in the bin.

Just checked the statements for the last two months and the only people paying any money in is Geraint and Myself. Can I please ask you all to set up standing orders to cover your race fees, as I think that this summer is going to be very expensive and very complicated in regards to collecting outstanding fees (especially with the junior contingent now incorporated).
Account number 42292556
Sort code 40-31-06
I would suggest that those racing in all the big regatta's i.e. those in the 8's would need to be paying in at least £25 per month to cover seat fees and towing. Those of you with internet banking will be able to do this with a few clicks of the mouse, so its not difficult. Those of you without internet banking should be able to do it over the telephone, or as a last resort over the counter in a branch. They can be easily adjusted should you find after a few months that you are over or under paying.
It's much easier for me to manage this way, and you don't get me hassling you every week for money!
Please can all of you seriously consider this request.
Cheers,
Richard Ridgway

I've just posted a draft copy of the latest fees spreadsheet on your relevant group sites. Please note that I have not checked the statements lately, so any of you that have paid directly into the account will not be picked up on this sheet. Likewise, I have not emptied the post box for around 2-3 weeks, so any cheques in here will also not show up.
I am still to sort out the finer details re: towing to HORR, so Anne, you should come in with about £75 credit when I finally get this sorted.
As you can see, we are seriously low on funds, so I need you all to bring some money down to the club at the earliest opportunity. I have paid for Wallingford out of my own pocket, and have not paid entry fees for Lea or Poplar yet, but will need these by the end of the week.

I was at the club early this morning and as we opened up we found the main gate combination lock on correct combination also the river entrance gate was completely unlocked. Only the combination lock was hanging on but not locked up, again the correct combination still showing.
I know emails keep going out saying please lock the club up properly and I'm sure its getting boring reading it again but this is happening to often. Even if there are cars in the car park at the end of the night don't assume there is still some one about as people do leave cars at the club over night. If you are the last person to leave, check the outing board if everyone is in and gone home lock up the club and take the keys back to the guard house.
When you lock up the club please can you make sure that:
All the boat and club huts are secure: All lights are turned off, widows shut, alarms set and locked up properly. ( If you don't know how to set the alarms or work the locks ask me and I'll be more than happy to show you)
River side and main gates locked with both key and combination locks on, again do not leave the correct combination showing.
As a club member it is your responsibility to make sure the club is secure, I for one don't want my equipment damaged or stolen let alone the clubs.
Can I please ask that those of you who are rowing in the coming up races - Lea, Wallingford etc that you bring some money or your chequebooks tonight, tomorrow or Thursday.
I am forking out a considerable amount of money, both out of my own account and the entry fees account at the moment, and so need the money coming in (about £1000!!)
Cheers,

** POPLAR REGATTA SUNDAY 10TH MAY ** Due to the change in the points system , we are able to offer even more racing catagories this year , BUT, some catagories may have to be limited to the first 12 enties received so as not to crowd the days programme. So to avoid dissappointment we strongly advise all competitors to submit their entries early . For more information and entry details go to www.poplarregatta.co.uk Contact:
On each bit of kit that you add to your basket in the product options, in the drop down box, choose " hold my order until cut off date" this way we will benefit on bulk discount.
Godfrey will then collate the order after the cut off date, work out what needs to be made up, what each person owes with discounts on bulk orders and then start work on the kit. The payments will be taken from each person that has ordered in the week that the kit is due out (5Th June). If there are any problems please don't hesitate to ask moi or any questions with the ordering side you can contact godfrey ( or me and I'll try and find out).
Official racing kit to order:
the rest is up to you.
This is alot easier than taking orders from everyone, collecting money then putting the order in.
Hi all,
Apologies, my handbag was stolen Friday and I will not receive my phone
replacement until Wednesday. In conjunction with that the hard drive on my
computer at work has now given up the ghost - an engineer arrives some point
tomorrow (but I'm on leave then so won't receive the Teamer emails) but will be
irregularly accessing my personal emails (Yahoo)from other PC's. Also needless
to say; I've lost all my contact details as a result of the theft so please
could I have replacements a.s.a.p.? (via Yahoo or FB)
I should be able to make the outing tomorrow but as a general rule am limited by
work with outing times as I have to start by 8am and usually finish nearing
5.30pm out in West Malling - sure we can sort out some practical solution though
...... :-)
See you tomorrow!
Sophie
Training tomorrow night at 5.30 for 5.45 at the club. Teamer update sent out - please please reply
After that there is no structured training until 18th April at 7.00.
I will attempt to organise some uncoached outings for those that want to - can anyone away between 8th April and 17th April please let me know so I can not include in Teamer request?
regards
James

Please accept my apologies for my absence this week. My whole family have been
suffering from various bugs. I might come down to potter about in a single this
weekend but I'm signed off from training for a while :(
Enjoy the sunshine

One of the juniors is desperate for a large mens, lilac, all in one, to enable him to be same as the rest of the crew. Nancy doesn’t have any large, and I am unable to order a one off. Please will you put a notice on Stonesrowing to see if anyone is prepared to sell us one or at least loan it for the short term. Many thanks.
I Will start collecting orders this weekend so we can get them in ready for the race season. obviously the more orders we put in, the cheaper it will be.

This weekend: There will be a smallish ceremony on Sunday to mark the opening of the new building on Sunday from 10 - 12. All club members are invited to attend. There will not be any rowing training that morning but there will be a couple of crews going out to give the attending dignitaries a little bit of rowing to watch. The mayor, some councillors who gave us money, Rosemary Napp from the ARA and possibly others will be there and given a tour by committee members. It is proposed to light up the bbq for some food.
This all means that we have to have a jolly good tidy up on saturday to get ready. We will be rowing on Saturday - Ray may possibly change the times but I have not heard yet and then we will be tidying up the site. The juniors will be relocating from the training hut so we can tidy that up too. So please could everyone be prepared to stay behind for as long as it takes. The more there are the shorter time we will all be there,
Ergos are now going to be 1k and 2k against the clock. It was a bit difficult to get a definitive answer from Ray last night as to how many and how often, but I will get there!!!
On Monday 30th March, there will be a swim test and capsize drill at 8pm at KIngs School Rochester pool. Even if you have done it before you should still aim to go so that it can be logged by the club. You will need to swim in shorts and tshirt or all in 1 - clean please!! I will try and get directions from Jo.
DON'T FORGET THE CLOCKS CHANGE THIS WEEKEND.
Next week we will therefore be able to start rowing in the evenings. It is proposed that the squads row on Tuesday and Thursday evenings - not Wednesdays as the Juniors will be out until at least 7.30. Will discuss this further with Ray.
We now have a DVD of the Vets Head crews.
See you at boat unloading tonight or circuits tomorrow.
Anne

I was just wondering if you could pass on a message to all club members to say if they shop / buy petrol at tesco to collect the vouchers for schools and clubs.
If we raise enough we can get some free equipment for the club!
There are no official outings planned until Saturday and Sunday - I will use Teamer to send the notifications for these. Please let me know if you do not get text messages about these.
Land training at your discretion, I believe circuits are on, ergos from now on will be 1k and 2k pieces.
Enjoy your rest - I'll be bogged down in work all week and possibly at the weekend but hope to see you all soon
Look at Danske Roklub's result, assuming no crew change (as opposed to us), they dropped 53 secs between Saturday and Sunday!
I rest my case!

We completed the race on Saturday in 19:45, on Sunday it took us
20:59. Am I missing something? I suspect I am. It did seem to feel
better on Sunday.
Did the tide help us a lot on Saturday?
Kind regards

For those feeling a deflated after yesterday's result, then the above should give you a bit more confidence in ourselves (sorry if formatting has slipped a bit).
We know we had a better row than the day before. I'm no expert but I would save the tide was not as strong as Saturday and peaked during the race, and not before, hence why so many Vet C and D crews did so well.
Looking at the results across Vet A and Vet B, ie those with similar conditions, we were 4th in Category and 9th over combined A/B (and only slip 1 place if handicap applied) - an argument to claim the beer off Ray?......
Looking at who beat us... the only like-for-like clubs to beat us were AK, Notts composite and York City... with no outings prior to the day in our racing line-up, then I'm pretty chuffed with the result.
Cheers
James

Dear all,
Would anyone like to start rowing on Monday, Thursday and Friday evenings?
We obviously need to train more as a crew.
We'd need to be at the club for 5:15pm, to be on teh water for 5:30pm.
This is open for discussion though.
Kind regards
Stephen

The Club has a pre-opening day on Sunday 29th March to allow the Mayor of Maidstone and various other councillors and representative of grant and sponsor organisations a chance to look around our club and see our new premises that they have made contributed towards.
It is important to show that we are a vibrant and active club.
I ask all members to be around in the morning at 10am. The dignitaries will start to arrive at 10am and the activities will take place a 10:30 prompt and they will all be gone by 12 noon.
As well as looking around the Club several of our new boats (but not all) will be officially named by the Mayor including the new Fillipi.
After the boat naming there will be demonstration races in fours and quads by the Seniors and Juniors at the club steps to show the activities our members enjoy.
.
The more members and activity we have at the club on 29th the better impression we will give to these funding bodies and the more we are likely to attract future grants. After all these people have helped us with the £219,000 grant for the new buildings and many other small grants; so please try and support the Club by being there.
Thank you
