Well, the speed of dark is easy to explain. It is directly related to
the speed of light. Darkness is the absence of light, therefore
whenever light leaves, darness abounds. Elementary concept. This would
lead one to the conclusion that dark travels just as fast as light.
There is no absence of light and dark. When have you ever seen a room
where there is neither dark nor light? So, dark must travel at the
same speed as light for it to reach the same place that light was just
occupying. It really isn't that complicated once you think about it.
Although, now that I am thinking about it, and this might just turn
the scientific world on its head... maybe we have been looking at
things backwards the whole time! Maybe Light comes after dark. So dark
is actually faster and light is instead the absence of dark. Hmm...
Personally, I think the speed of dark is really just the amount of
time it takes for A) a letter to reach San Juan or B) Stockton to
recognize the fencing club as a real club. Either of these theories
seem plausible to me.
