Stephane is competing at Ondrej Nepela Memorial!!!   Message List

Re: [stephane_lambiel] Re: Stephane is competing at Ondrej Nepela Memorial!!!

Hey Angie :-)

The reasons why I thought Stefan Lindeman just could maybe win with Stephane was that:

1. At the beginning of the season strange things happen. For example at Skate America 2 years ago (and that's a month further into the season) Alexei Yagudin lost to Timothy Goebel. What's more Tim had previously (1999/2000 season) been 10th at World Championships whilst Alexei had won them. So that was pretty strange!

2. Stefan Lindeman has landed a 3axel/3toe/2loop in competition and had also been attempting a 4toe all through last season (at Euros he fell, but previous to Euros I had seen him put a hand down on the quad, which isn't a very bad mistake).  Stephane has not attempted any such jumps in competition and if Stefan had landed these, it would be unlikely that Stephane would have won.

And your other question :-) "Nailing" comes from the verb "to nail", which means "to fasten something with a nail". In this sens it means that Stephane was landing the two jumps surely. I guess the meaning connection isn't obvious here, but when you think about it (for hours and hours ;-)) it does kind of start making sens... Well... I think it does...

Hope this answers your questions :-)

Monika

  Hi ya all!

I recieved a sms today (before I read your messages) from Kata from
Slovakia who told me Stéphane won! And I saw just now who was
competeting! I not surprised at all he won! Could he really lose to
Lindemann? That would have mean he's in bad form this season...or he
wanted to lose! Lol! Okay, I don't want to be nasty to Stephan
Lindemann, but Stéphane couldn't lose to Stephan (did u understand?
lol!)!
Btw, I don't really understand what it means the Stéphane was
nailing his 3axel and 4toe. Does it mean he manages it? Or what?

Okay,
c ya soon,
hugs,
Angie.
