Well, my "predictions" may be a little jumbled...cuz who I WANT to
win may not be the person who will skate clean and get to win. With
that in mind here they are:
MEN:
1st: Alexei Yagudin - I think he can do it...it just depends on
how "on" he is. This season (and last season, ie: worlds) he hasn't
been too consistant, but he did skate nicely at GPF. Also, his name
IS a factor is we like it or not. Because he's done good in the
past, judges may put him higher on the podium (ie: like what happened
at Euros).
2nd: Evgeny Plushenko...only if his "Olympic" program is better than
the one he presented at GPF. ICK! was it ever horrible there. If
he has fixed it and presents it clean...then maybe he will be first.
3rd: Todd Eldredge - I say Todd because I know he can. I don't
think he can get any higher than 3rd though without the quad. He is
very artistic, but judges score higher for quads...and both Alexei
and Evgeny have quads. Well...so does Timothy Goeble, but judges
don't seem to think he's "artistic" enough, lol.
LADIES:
1st: Irina Slutskaya - I think she can do it if she focuses...she
tends not to focus in times of REAL pressure....so that leaves room
for Michelle or even Maria Butyrskaya to bump her out of first.
2nd: Michelle Kwan - I think it's all about the name here. She's on
American soil and judges are biased by her famous name, I don't think
she'll leave with any less than a silver. There is always room for
Sarah Hughes to be second with the way Michelle's season has been.
3rd: I have no clue. With ladies...it could go in any direction.
Maybe Maria will take it...maybe even Sasha Cohen, she's been pretty
much on this season. Sarah Hughes will be up there, I don't know
what order these ladies will be in.
PAIRS:
1st: Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze will get gold....they
rock and are very on with artistic marks and techinical marks.
2nd: Jamie Sale and David Pelletier....they are good, but not good
enough to win an Olympic gold, I think. I know they won worlds last
year...and they have such good presentation it makes me cry, but I
think the Russians will push them out of first.
3rd: Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao - I think they are solid. Their throws
are very athletic and very high....Xue lands them perfectly every
time. Their spins are not the highest of quality, but they are in
syncranization all the time...as are their side by side jumps.
Artisticly they are getting up there, but not enough to beat the
Canadians.
DANCE:
(I'm not too much into dance, so I'll just put down some names and
see how it goes, lol)
1st: Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat - I simply love their style
and they are very together. I think they will beat the Italians this
year.
2nd: Shae-Lynn Bourne and Victor Kraatz - I do adore their style MUCH
more than any other dance team, I enjoy their energy, their edges,
and their music interpretation. But they've been snubbed before, why
would this be any different? lol! all about the name most of the
time.
3rd: I'd like to see Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas get at
least 3rd, but in more realistic terms, I think Irina Lobacheva and
Ilia Averbukh will get the bronze.
Sorry that was so long, I had to explain myself so no one could
critisize my rankings! LOL! Have a good day and enjoy the Olympic
Games!
Hugs,
Erin
