Berkeley TT website mentions their club closed 2/13/09
for presidents day.
I think this friday Alameda TT club is hosting
Berkeley RR at their facility.
Friday (two days from now), October 24, the school is using the gym for
a dance.
So, we will NOT be playing this Friday -- see you next week.

Just a reminder that this Friday Sept 19, the school will be using the
gym for a dance, so we will not be playing.
There are also a few dates in the Spring with school dances on Fridays.
I tend to announce them when we get a little closer.
In addition, we will not be playing the first two dates in January 2009.

Please let other members, who might not receive this email, know about
our re-opening in August. I forgot to include this in the first
email. -- david

Hi all,
We have received a commitment from the school district enabling us to
play on school holidays, including the month of August. So we will begin
regular meetings Friday August 1, 2008, and Monday August 4, 2008.
As usual, Mondays are from 6:30 to 10:00, and Fridays are from 7:00 to
10:00. We are expected by the school district to honor the closing time
of 10:00, at which time we should be all put away and out the door.
See you all soon -- david
**********************************
Hi all, I just received an email from the school telling me that
the lights are now OK.
So we should be back to the usual table layout/arrangement on Monday.
-- david
***********************************
Hello again,
Just a reminder that we will NOT be playing on Fridays again until March
2008.
And Tim should update the home page on our web site to NOT indicate
Fridays open.
Thanks all, see you on Mondays. -- david

OK - See you a week from tomorrow.

Sorry -- david

The time is 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
Friday nights are open nights and we look forward to everyone that
attends and enjoys them, new and regular members. The floors are done
and the fun will be ours.
A few dates will be updated on the calendar soon, nothing big, one day
in August will not be available to us, fill you in later about that.
Nothing effects the Monday night players at this time.

Tim & Kate
I spent over an hour talking with the owner of Mark West Lodge and with
his friend from Los Angeles who is basically the one behind the table
tennis offering. No charge for playing at the present. You don't need
to eat dinner in order to play, but if they continue to have no charge
it would be nice to at least pay for something to drink from the bar
(non-alcoholic stuff is, as usual, also available at the bar).
Right now, they have 2 tables and the room is a little bit better than
most garage tables. The tables are great, the nets are flimsy, the
balls are OK, the loaner paddles are not so good, the light is good but
the ceiling stuff is pretty low, and the room behind the tables is like
what we have with the Detroiter tables at the end of the gym (a little
short for the stronger players).
Last Thursday I watched about 8-10 people from the restaurant play for
a short while each. Never longer than a short wait. If it gets busier
the play time may have to be limited, and/or doubles initiated. I
should be there from at least 7pm next Thursday July 12.
The room is right in the front as you enter from the parking lot. The
restaurant is easy to find since there is NOTHING else around. The
place stays in business mostly from renting out for events and
weddings. They do want more people to be aware of the place again as
the Mark West Lodge has been there for decades off-and-on before its
present reincarnation.

Hello David
The web Site has been updated as of the 5th, I added your ditty
from the bulk e-mail, It was good to see you do that. So whats up with
the Mark West place? Do you need to eat dinner to play at the
location? or is it open to the public? How many players do they have
most times if you visit? ... Next Thursday we were thinking of checking
it out. How do we find the room or bar when we get there?
Again sorry for not getting the site updated before we left. I
totally missed it... ( frown). Once we get the DSL speeds re-setup here
at the house I will mostlikley direct the domain back to my computer,
During July, the only open venues are Novato TTC on Tuesday eves
and
Marin TTC (Sausalito) on Thursday eves.
In Santa Rosa area the Mark West Lodge (6 to 10 minutes East from Hwy
101) on Mark West Springs Rd, where Mark West changes to Porter Creek
Rd, has 2 relatively OK tables available on Thursday evenings (from
about 5pm on), when they are open for light meals. They told me that
they will be closed however on July 5.

I know the Cardboard looks cool and does work well for the club. Let me
ask this? Is the end to the garage the line you would put it? If so you
can get barrier netting from all of the local hardware stores and have
two or three hooks on each side of the door and hook them up in that
manner. You stop any wind problems and have an easy setup and break
down. Plus maybe 20 bucks out of pocket.
That is a great idea - thanks Dave.

Corrugated cardboard rolls come in 250 foot lengths. One-sided A-Flute
(1/4 inch) 36 inch wide rolls should cost about $40 to $50. There are a
number of packaging material source sites on the internet. I am not
sure about local sites, since Office Depot carries the same stuff for
about $140 to $150 per roll (far too expensive). The corrugated rolls
need to be set out with lots of "squiggles" to prevent tipping over,
and for a garage space this would probably take up too much room. I
would suggest that you accumulate some used cardboard boxes and make up
(duct tape?) some flat panels to cover the places in the garage that
might "eat" balls, or to prevent balls from going down the driveway.
