Subject: [USRKUSA - Deshi] Grand Opening - Ueshiro Midtown Karate at St.
Barts

The Ueshiro Midtown Karate Dojo held it's grand opening
workout/celebration Saturday at St. Barts Athletic Center. Hanshi
Robert Scaglione led the group through the traditional set of basics
across the LONG gym floor, followed by a vigorous review of kata, many
of them high-level black belt kata. The workout concluded with intense
pre-arranged fighting and then a cool-down. Domo arigto to the many
blackbelts, brown belts and determined green belts for attending. Also,
a congratulations to Scott Modrzynski who attended as our first new
white belt recruit for the Dojo at St. Barts.

During the course of this week we will be formalizing a schedule of
instructors and assistant instructors to offer consistent, high-level
training for beginners and advanced students alike. Until the schedule
is formalized, please continue to train at the regularly scheduled
times. The Friday class, conducted by Sensei Garcia, will be
permanently switched to 5:30 - 6:30 (instead of 6:00 - 7:00). Also, Mr.
Neff will begin offering two Saturday classes as of this weekend, May
27th: 10:45 - 11:45 and 12:00 - 1:00pm. Starting June 1, 2006 we will
be offering monthly memberships for $75.

Domo arigato, Hanshi, and all the deshi who have put in countless hours
to bring this karate studio into being.
