It is widely known that
masters of the martial arts have been inspired by nature to develop techniques
and kata. One of the most common analogies found in martial arts is that of
the Moon On Water. This concept is first introduced to Shorin Ryu Karate USA
Deshi in Fukyugata Nidan. As long as the water is placid, it reflects perfectly
the image of the moon. But if it is ruffled, the moon's reflection is
shattered. As long as the bushi warrior keeps himself in a state of
tranquility, he can see the intentions of others. But, if he allows himself to
become agitated, the reflection is shattered.
