Cocoa Beach Karate Test: February 26, 2006

 

The Ueshiro Cocoa Beach Karate Dojo held our February 2006 belt testing on Sunday 26^th at the Cocoa Beach Recreation Center.

A total of 26 students participated, including those students testing, as well as those showing up to support the event. An additional two students with will be tested on Wednesday and one other student will be tested in March for black belt (sho-dan).  Dom arigato to Hanshi Scaglione, who is currently visiting and conducting classes at the NYC Dojo, for his tireless leadership and support!

 

 

The board of judges for the testing included the following black belts: Co-Shihan of the Cocoa YMCA Dojo, Sensei David Tamir; Shihan of Cocoa Beach Dojo, Sensei Des Chaskelson; Chief Instructor Sense Kurt Tezel; and black belt instructors Ms. Connie Rutkowski; Mr. Joe Motro and Ms. Carla Eddy.  

 

Students who were not testing but showed up to lend support included: Trevor Tezel, Ik-kyu; Sheila Gagne, Ni-kyu; and JD McCormack, Ni-Kyu.

 

The following students tested and were promoted to the rank of:

 

Green Stripes (children’s rank): Alexandra Bulla, Latham Kellum Jnr.

 

Ro-Kyu (one green tip): Michael Adams, Christophe Bulla, and Latham Kellum Snr.

 

Yellow Belt (children’s rank): Nick French

 

Yon-Kyu (green belt): Tricia Tezel, Chris Minnis, Jim McCall; Joshua Adams, Kevin Tezel, Meghan Tezel and Wade Parker

 

San-Kyu (brown tips): Danny Parker

 

Orange Belt (children’s rank): Clay Tezel

Ik-Kyu (black tips): Julio Caballero

 

Testing on Wednesday: for yellow belt, Trey Arnold; for green belt: Sarah Parker.

 

Testing in March for black belt (sho-dan): Trevor Tezel.
