Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate USA,

Onegai-Shimasu.

This past Saturday April 26th, Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate USA (SRKUSA),
under the direction of Hanshi Robert Scaglione, supported a large
county event in Florida called “Get Active Brevard”, featuring various
local sport groups, associations, and vendors promoting health and
well being via exercise and proper nutrition. Ueshiro SRKUSA was a
major sponsor of this event, contributing gift certificates valued at
over $2500 for karate classes at our various Brevard County Florida
locations. We setup an information booth with a banner and signs,
advertising our 5 local karate schools throughout Brevard County
Florida (Viera, Suntree, Cocoa, Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach).
Approximately 40 of our members rotated over a period of 4 hours
training/demonstrating kata, yakusoku kumite, and other traditional
exercises adjacent to our booth. We also conducted a 15 minute
demonstration on the main stage of the event (see attached photos).
Sensei Tamir, Sensei Chaskelson, Sensei Dujardin, Sensei Marchetti,
and Sensei Tezel (along with the various other sempai and deshi who
showed up) helped Hanshi carry on our mission through this event --
"To propagate the art of Shorin-Ryu Karate USA, its kata and
techniques, as handed down by our founder Grand Master Ansei Ueshiro..."
