Gianluigi Buffon insists now that Italy are training in Turin, Juventus have the best club facilities in the country.
Tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria is played at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, the home venue for the Bianconeri.
Buffon took the opportunity to act as ‘guide’ of the Vinovo training ground for his international colleagues.
“It was a very expensive structure, but the club has made the necessary investments for a great side,” said the goalkeeper.
“There are nine pitches, including two with synthetic grass and one indoors. We have a gym and a special swimming pool for physiotherapy that allows you to swim against the tide.
“What the players really need and appreciate is a good pitch. We are second to none in terms of the grass here.”
The shot-stopper continued the rivalry with Inter and Milan by taking a virtual tour of their grounds.
“Vinovo is the most modern and functional camp in Italy. Milanello without doubt has a great location in the forest, but the structure – however well kept – is beginning to show its age.”
The work is not yet complete in Turin, as stands are under construction that will allow 400 fans to watch the training sessions.
