JUNIOR REHABILITIATION SCIENTIST
(working with British Olympic Association [BOA])
Based: EIS/Bisham Abbey Performance Centre
Salary: £17, 560 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Fixed term contract until 30 September 2010.
The BOA has teamed up with the EIS to create the British Olympic Medical
Institute – Intensive Rehabilitation Unit. This role presents a unique
opportunity to shape and develop the service at Bisham Abbey.
The role will involve:
• The delivery of scientific support for athletes in rehabilitation at the
Intensive Rehab Unit
• Conducting assessments of athletes and supervising/designing strength and
conditioning sessions
• Working with the Intensive Rehab Unit team to create a world class high
performance rehabilitation environment.
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering services to athletes
and coaches.
You should have:
• A qualification at degree level (or equivalent) in sports science specialising
in the area of physical preparation or rehabilitation of elite athletes
• Demonstrable experience in the provision of scientific support services to
athletes and coaches to improve performance and/or recovery from injuries
• Experience of developing and implementing innovative ideas and putting them
into practice, including working in an applied and integrated manner
