upper extremity functional testing   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #3261 of 3441 |
I was wondering if anyone knew of any functional testing for the upper extremity that could be used to evaluate gymnast-type athletes for performance-related issues. I tried searching and only seemed to come up with functional tests for the elderly and post-stroke. We are looking for things similar to the lower extremity like:

Crossover Hop Test for Distance
Figure Eight Hop Test
Up and Down Hop Test
Single Leg Hexagon Hop Test

We did find a one-arm hop test (Falsone et al, JOSPT 2002;32:98-103) but only dealt with reliability. We did a citation search and was only one citation, that was a clinical practice article - no articles discussing validity, and no other PubMed articles with "one-arm hop" in the title.

Any help would be appreciated.
