The sports science group at the United States Olympic Committee is admitting it has "secrets" it won't discuss, hoping to give an edge to American athletes.
From the Wall Street Journal: "Some of our strategies and equipment are, quite honestly, 'top secret,' and we are hesitant to lay all our cards on the table for our competitors to mimic," explained Randy Wilber, the USOC's sport physiologist who oversaw the mask project, in an email.
If you were in charge of the marathoners, cyclists, or triathletes in Beijing, what legal strategies would you advise? Pre-competition masks? Glycerol? Full body ice water immersion? Therapeutic asthma meds? (Anyone know how many more of these have been requested for Beijing vs prior Olympics?) Others?
Please discuss.
