PhD Scholarship in Physical Activity, Health and Ageing
A PhD scholarship is being offered to undertake a series of projects that are
examining the impacts of unemployment and ageing on physical and behavioural
aspects of health. The effect of an intervention program addressing dietary
behaviours, levels of physical activity, and psychological wellbeing on
job-seeking behaviours and markers of health will be investigated.
The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team that includes
exercise physiologists, dietitians, and psychologists. The current research is
being conducted through the Faculty of Science, Health and Education at the
University of the Sunshine Coast and is co-funded by the Queensland Government.
The scholarship offers a $19,231 tax-free per annum living allowance equivalent
to an Australian Postgraduate Award plus all project costs.
Applicants should have an Honours (I or IIA) or research Masters degree in one
or more areas of relevant study such as Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise
Physiology or Psychology
