Faculty Position in Motor Learning
Assistant Professor with a specialization in Motor Learning: The Division of Kinesiology and Health at the University of Wyoming invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track position beginning August 2007. Qualifications include a doctorate degree in motor learning (or related field), with university teaching experience desired and evidence of/potential for scholarly activity required.
The ideal person for this position will be an effective teacher and an active researcher with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and engage students in learning and research.
Responsibilities:
1) TEACHING: Provide quality instruction in undergraduate and graduate courses to students across the Division who have interests in physical education teacher education, athletic training, health promotion, and kinesiology. Offer one undergraduate course in applied motor learning (skill acquisition/reacquisition and performance), with the expectation to develop additional courses in complementary areas, depending on expertise. Advise undergraduate and mentor graduate students.
2) SCHOLARSHIP: Develop and pursue a research program that produces nationally refereed publications and professional presentations. Direct theses and graduate/undergraduate research projects. Ability to attract external support for research is desirable.
3) SERVICE: Provide service to the Division, University, State, and profession, and participate in innovative and collaborative efforts related to the Division’s curriculum and program development.
