SENIOR EXECUTIVE/EXECUTIVE (SPORTS SCIENCE)
Reporting to the Deputy Director (Sports Science) from the Sports Medicine & Sports Science (SMSS) Division in the High Performance Group, you will be responsible for managing all research and quality assurance issues for the Division. You will be expected to have a background in research, including statistical analysis, and will assist the SMSS Doctors, Scientists and Physiotherapists in all aspects of research; including ensuring overall adherence with approval procedures, performing secretarial duties for the approving and ethical committees, and driving quality of research among SMSS staff. You will also take a lead role in directing a quality assurance programme across each of the units within the Division, ensuring the documentation and implementation of best practice services.
Prerequisites:
- • Degree in Science/Statistics related discipline
- • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, including experience in conducting research in accordance with international standards
- • Good computing skills, preferably proficient with statistical software tools like SAS and SPSS, Excel, Access and other database software
- • Strong analytical, interpersonal and writing skills
- • A high level of initiative
- • Experience in an administrative role is desirable
SPORT PSYCHOLOGIST
Reporting to the Head (Sport Psychology) from the Sports Medicine & Sports Science (SMSS) Division in the High Performance Group, you will be primarily responsible for helping national level competitive athletes enhance their sporting performance through applied sport psychology. You will be expected to provide the highest quality of sport psychology services to our nation’s elite athletes and coaches. These services can include the following areas: performance enhancement, personal development and life skills, career planning and management, well-being and adjustment, education, and research. You should possess a specialist interest and background in applied sport psychology as well as a significant background in the usage of information technology – from personal computers (Microsoft suite of applications) to audio-visual equipment. Only those with outstanding records and an ambition to develop their professional skills as an applied sport psychologist need apply.
Prerequisites:
- • Post-graduate Degree in Sport Psychology or equivalent
- • Basic qualifications in general psychology is preferred (and/or background in Sport Science and Physical Education)
- • Competitive sport experience and varied sporting background
- • Relevant applied working experience will be favourably considered
- • Sound statistical knowledge and previous research experience are added advantage
- • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and spoken)
- • Proficient in the use of computers and technology
- • A team player who possesses initiative, passion for sport psychology and high performance sport
- • Prepared to work in the evenings and weekends; and travel overseas with sports teams when necessary.
