Research Methods & Statistics - Exercise & Sport Sciences
Ithaca College invites applicants for this full-time, three-year,
non-tenure-eligible Assistant Professor position in the Department of
Exercise and Sport Sciences to begin August 16, 2005, with the possibility
for renewal on an annual basis following the three-year hire period.
Responsibilities: Primary teaching responsibilities include graduate and
undergraduate research methods and graduate statistics. Additional
teaching responsibilities may include computer applications or exercise
science courses in the candidate's area of expertise, such as exercise
physiology, sport psychology, or wellness. Additional responsibilities
include advising graduate students and faculty in design and data analysis
of theses/research projects. Scholarly activity, undergraduate student
advising, and college service are required. Qualifications: Ph.D. (ABD
considered) in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Allied Health, or
related field with emphases in research methods, statistics, or
measurement theory; expertise in experimental designs; the ability to
contribute to the department in other areas within the exercise sciences;
and evidence of college-level teaching and potential for scholarly
activity required. Familiarity with qualitative designs and a background
in health, wellness, or fitness with professional certifications (e.g.
