Hi all, after a frustrating 8 months I find myself having to turn to the gas
analysis experts on the list for help on the following matter.
We have a Sensor medics Vmax 29 system which has served us well for 7 years.
After a recent service we were told we needed a new gas analysis module (at a
cost of $5,0000+ US). Since fitting the new module we have seen a 25% decrease
in our measured Vo2 values. We tried a second new module but the problem
persists. We now struggle to get Max Vo2 values over 60 ml/kg/min even in the
world class endurance athletes that we work with. In addition we simply cannot
get RER values lower than 0.8 even at rest.
We have tried checking gas calibrations (all fine)
Sampling through the flow meter (in both BxB and mixing chamber modes)
all to no avail. If anybody else has any other suggestions I would be grateful
to hear them.
Thanks in advance
