Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to undertake
research on the influence of dietary macronutrient profile on muscle
substrate utilisation and subsequent performance during high level tennis
match play.

This is a collaborative project with the National Academy of the
Professional Tennis Registry UK, and will require knowledge and
understanding of sports physiology and nutrition as well as the demands
of training and competing at a high level in tennis, and the ability to work
cooperatively with players, coaches and trainers.

The studentship, under the supervision of Dr.s Mark Goss-Sampson
and Sally Parsonage, is for a period of 3 years with an annual salary of
£8000 p.a. which includes free tuition and commence in September
2004.

Applicants should have, or expect to get, a good honours or higher
degree in a relevant subject area, and be able to substantiate their
experience of performance level tennis.
