The Institute for Sport Science of the University of Innsbruck together
with the Organizing Committee of the 22nd Winter Universiade
Innsbruck/Seefeld 2005 (ISOC2005) is organizing a seminar for young
researchers and graduate students, the Young Researcher Seminar 2004
(YSR 2004).
The topic of the seminar is “Young Elite Athletes and Education - A
European Perspective for Student-Athletes” and it will be held from 23rd
to 26th of September in Innsbruck.
What will make YSR 2004 special is that each participant will be an
active presenter, with either an oral or a poster presentation. The main
themes of the seminar are:
•“Young Athletes” – works which deal with youth sport (e.g. sport
science in elite youth sport, biomechanics in elite youth sport,
psychological and pedagogical aspects of elite youth sport, lifestyle
management for elite adolescent athletes, …)
•“Education” – works focusing on pedagogical aspects (e.g. special
schools for elite adolescent athletes, partner schools for high
performance sport, …)
Submitted abstracts will be judged by a review committee of the
International University Sports Federation (FISU) and 30 participants
will be chosen. These selected participants will receive a substantial
financial contribution towards their travel costs, accommodation and
seminar fee.
Further information (second announcement and call for papers)can be
