Dear Colleagues,

The Victorian Institute of Sport in conjunction with Sports Medicine
Australia would like to announce that it will be staging a joint
conference.

This event combines the Victorian Conference of Science and Medicine
in Sport and Exercise (SMX 2003) with the inaugural Gastrolyte VIS
International Science and Football Symposium.

The conference will be held at the Sidney Myer Asia Centre,
Melbourne University, Melbourne, Australia on 22-23 March, 2003.

Please go to www.vis.org.au/SMX or the homepage of the Victorian
Institute of Sport: www.vis.org.au to download a detailed programme
or to register.

This event brings together leading Australian and International
applied scientists, medical and health practitioners and physical
preparation experts.

Your will hear the latest research findings and practical
applications currently used by these leading experts.

Day one of the conference is the SMX 2003. Keynote speakers include
Don Talbot, former head Australian swimming coach and Dr Ben Kibler,
leading international orthopaedic surgeon and shoulder injury expert.

Day two of the conference is the inaugural Gastrolyte VIS
International Science and Football Symposium, which brings together
expert international and local presenters from all football codes.
This outstanding group of leading professionals includes
physiologist Dr Inigo Mujika, Australian Institute of Sport, and
Neil Craig, Adelaide Football Club (former physiologist for South
Australian Sports Institute and Australian track cycling team).
