Let me introduce myself. I am a father of 3, 2 step children ages
22, 24 and son age 14. My wife and I are employeed at local
hospitals, she as an ER Technician and I as Phlebotomist in the
laboratory. We make a living but do not actually make enough money to
keep our 14yr old son in Hockey. We are financially strapped due to
car payments, mortgage and lifes expenses. Our son has played hockey
since he was 5yrs old and moved to travel hockey 3 years ago. Travel
hockey is an expensive sport, ice time alone will cost $300+ a month.
Yes we could pull our son from this sport, but the benefits he has
achieved are currently worth the expense. He is doing will in school
and stays out of trouble. We believe it is due to the commitment to
hockey and the structure he is receiving. How do you tell a boy who
has played hockey all his life he can not play due to finacial
concerns, yes he will understand the financial portion but what will
he do in his free time?
I am an honest, honorable man who will take any sponsorship or
donation and apply it towards our sons hockey. If needed I may supply
a tax id number from his team. Please email your suggestions or
sponsorship so I may reply..Thank you, Hockey Dad (in need).
