To me, this pageant is important as it promotes the plus
size world by giving the women a chance to show themselves, and prove
that the plus size can have the same fun as regular people, and be
just as normal.  And it also proves you don't have to be a size 2 to
be beautiful.  This is why I want to enter, but without sponsorship,
that is not possible.
            Let me tell you about myself; I am a single, 23 year old,
college student.  I am currently enrolled at Iowa Western Community
College for pre-aviation.  My goal is to get my commercial pilots
license.  I plan to eventually double major with the aviation and
Marine Science for oceanography, as I love both worlds.  In the past,
I have worked many areas from cashier to day camp counselor, to
working four years at a before and after school daycare program.  I
have also helped organize a city -wide food drive for the Salvation
Army, with the final result of collecting well over 1,000 cans and
boxes for the Christmas season.
I am hoping to do some plus size modeling as I feel I could be a
good role model to younger children and young adults, by showing that
being plus size is acceptable, and that you can have just as much of
a normal life as everyone else.  As a child, I was on the heavier
side, and I remember trying to find clothes, only to be disappointed
because I had to wear the frumpy, out of style clothes.  There are
other problems associated with plus size such as low self-esteem. 
With pageants like Miss Plus America, and stores are finally starting
to cater to the younger plus size people, self-esteem is no longer an
issue, and young adults can wear the same stylish clothes as their
friends.
Please help promote the plus size world by sponsoring me for this
pageant.
