Dear All,
For some time now my wife & I have
been operating a website designed to facilitate the
process of organisations & individuals obtaining
sponsorship. We fund this non-commercial website ourselves &
through sponsorship of our webpages.
It appears to us
that there is a wide variety of attitudes towards
sponsorship throughout communities. In a small population
such as New Zealand it appears to be the big names eg
The All Blacks & the Provincial Rugby Union
competitions that are those to obtain the sponsorships from
the big companies.
However, nothing much is
apparent with regards the smaller organisations or in fact
the individuals who are many & are usually required
to obtain their funding by themselves, often with
little or hard-won success.
My questions are
1)
What would seem to be the attitudes in other countries
in respect of those seeking & those offering
sponsorship?
2) How does one go about trying to change attitudes
in society towards the good idea of small businesses
sponsoring in their communities, which is undoubtedly a good
thing for both the businesses & those who benefit from
sponsorship?

Regards

Dr Marcus Hawkins & Catherine Schmidt
